Edmonton: Festival City

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

It’s been a while since my last post. Some would say that my blog has died, but here I am to resuscitate :)  Things have been very busy lately, and now I finally have time to go back to photography.  Anyways, here goes…

Edmonton summers are short. So people here want to enjoy it as much as possible. That’s why there are sooo many festivals and events here. As such, this is my opportunity to continue to highlight Edmonton, its people, and its culture.

I will be taking photos in most of these events.  Also, because I’m planning on participating in my first photo competition: The Nikon Annual Photo Competition. The theme this year is “At the Heart of the Image”

I’ll continue to post each of my events and try to do something new and also sharpen my current style and skills.

First post in my brand new blog

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

I have had blogs in the past. They were all updated fairly regularly. Unfortunately, though, they all died. Being busy from school, I could not find the time to update them. Even more unfortunate, is that I never used to do a lot of things out of the ordinary and interesting enough to be posted in a blog.

Before school ended, though, I discovered my passion for photography. Since mid-2005, I have been taking photographs of many different things in various genres. I have also picked up techniques here and there that helped me define my own style through the years. One thing I wished I had done when I started is to document my experiences and how I learned. Now that I have set up my website and my gallery, I am now ready to document such experiences. If I can inspire other amateur photographers out there in following, continuing, and enhancing their knowledge and passion for photography through my posts, then I am happy :)

I will try to frequently update this blog with my experiences, the challenges that I faced, and other interesting things that I may find along the way in my photography. Check back frequently!
